Installing the DNS role
To run the DNS role on a server allow port 53 on your firewall.
If you are running a server with just the DNS role installed we recommend 2GB RAM and 20GB disk.
To install the DNS role:
- Click Servers in the left side bar
- Choose the server that you want to add the DNS role to
- Click Add role and select the ‘DNS’ check box
- Complete the form and hit Add role
You can navigate away from the server page when a service is being installed and you will be notified when the installation is completed.
